Nominate your local environmental change-maker

The Starfish Canada’s Top 25 Environmentalists Under 25 program recognizes and rewards young Canadian leaders creating positive environmental change in their local communities.

Our nomination period for 2017 is now closed. Check back here in May for the results!

How it Works

  • Nominate a friend, family member, colleague or someone you know about online by March 23.

  • We'll review every application and short-list candidates for 15-minute interviews. Nominees will be provided with our questions in advance. If the nominee is under 16 years of age, they are welcome to be interviewed with a parent or guardian present.

  • Our adjudication panel will pick 25 finalists that will be on our list this year.

  • Each finalist will be featured online through our website and social media. Each finalist will also have an opportunity to discuss their projects with The Starfish Canada team members to see how we can assist them in further developing and amplifying their work.

  • We'll have a finale event in May 2017 in Vancouver to celebrate and all finalists are welcome to attend.

Being an Top 25 finalist is about breaking the stereotypes around environmentalists

The word 'environmentalist' has some pretty strong stigmas around it -- but this program's out to prove that environmentalists aren't a certain type of person. Past recipients include local advocates, scientists, gardeners, outdoor recreationists, entrepreneurs who initiated green businesses and board members for local non-profit groups.

Canada's Top 25 nominees come from coast to coast to coast

We've celebrated young Canadian change-makers from all across the country, helping them raise the profile of their work. These finalists have gone on to do some amazing things, from launching new startups to training to be an astronaut at the International Space University.
